AMD Stock Price Prediction 2025: On June 9, 2025, Citi analyst Christopher Danely reiterated a Hold rating on Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) stock with a price target of $120.00, which implies a potential upside of 3.28% from the current level.
Citi expects AMD to launch its new AI chip, the MI355X, at the “Advancing AI” event on June 12. The company is also likely to share details about its upcoming MI400 chip. Citi believes AMD may announce new customers for its AI products, possibly including Amazon Web Services or OpenAI.
AMD has sold its ZT Systems manufacturing operations to Sanmina but kept its engineering team. Citi sees this as a move to keep AMD focused on AI infrastructure. By shifting production to another company, AMD can put more attention on design and development.
Citi updated its model to include a one-time charge of $800 million because of China export controls. This is part of what affects how the firm views AMD now. AMD is still trying to compete with Nvidia in advanced computing and graphics, especially in AI.
